The Triathlon Squad

Trevor here. We’re really not on top of our blog writing as of late.  Blame Heather and the fact that she now has a Facebook account. We don’t even have any cool pictures to post or anything! Lame!! It’s actually hard to believe that we’re already 5.5 weeks into our training regime for the 2011 season. 4 of those were in St. George, Utah and the last 1.5 down in Las Cruces, NM. It’s been a pretty great winter so far and the training has been cruising along nicely with at least 2 workouts per day for the last 38 days straight. I kid you not, we haven’t missed a beat, even on Christmas or the days we drove from Utah to New Mexico. We even managed to find a pool on New Years Day. Solid! All said the total hourly volume is nothing crazy given the lack of really long rides, but with 6 days of swimming, 6 days of running, and 3 or 4 days of riding we’re getting fitter by the week.

We’ve been working with Paulo Sousa since early December but we’re really looking forward to having him, and the rest of the squad, here in person. Looks like there’ll be 12 or 13 of us for this 1st camp in Las Cruces. It will be a welcome change to have a crew to train with.  We are not really sure how the upcoming two weeks will progress, but we’ll do our best to put up a couple blogs during the camp.  Maybe it will even warm up enough to ride without gloves and use our camera!  Paulo has set up a facebook page for the squad as well. I’m sure he’ll be on top of keeping the updates coming there if you’d like to follow along.
