The weather is finally here!!

dscn2743Trevor’s mom Nola came to visit us for Easter and there were freak winds (so FUN for riding – not) and seasonally cold temperatures. She brought shorts and t-shirts and ended up donning a gortex jacket and jeans. This weekend, just after she left (Murphy’s Law) the temperatures jacked up and right now, at 5:30 in the evening, it is over 30 degrees Celsius!!

dscn2775Anyway, we had a roasting ride today, a much needed, refreshing swim, and are about to run barefoot on the astro-turf at the wicked Santa Ynez track.  This was a recovery day from a wicked HARD run up Broadcast Peak – from about 600 ft to 3500. We decided to do thins instead of a very expensive 10 mile, flat, run race in Santa Barbara, and we each got an hour in with an avg HR of around 170!  The views were AMAZING, and yes we did still enjoy them while pushing that hard. We started just out of Santa Ynez on Refugio Rd, and popped up to the most breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean just outside of Goleta. Chuckie ran sag on his BAD ASS KLR 650 which was great. The run down was actually the toughest part, and took longer than the climb up! Check out the photos.

dscn2776Hopefully this hot weather cools a little for Wildflower, which is in a little under two weeks, but we are NOT complaining.
